Spicy Fish, Moroccan Style

I want to share with you a recipe passed down from one generation to another in a warm and loving Moroccan household.
Simple and delicious, this recipe is a must!!


Ingredients:

4-5 fresh tilapia fillets
1 head of garlic
3/4 cup oil
3/4 cup water
Tablespoon paprika
1/2 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon cumin
A pinch of fresh nutmeg
Parsley
2 Chili Peppers

Optional
3-4 slices tomato
3-4 potatoes, sliced
6-7 sliced ​​carrots.
2 red peppers sliced ​​into strips
A pound of fresh chickpeas (hummus)

Preparation:

Lay the fish in a wide pot.
Peel the garlic and spread evenly in the pot.
On a high flame, add ¾ cups of water to the pot.
(If desired, now you can add the optional ingredients of tomatoes, chickpeas, potatoes, carrots and peppers).

Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, add ¾ cup of oil, paprika and fresh nutmeg, cumin, finely chopped chili pepper. Mix well, then add to the pot of fish.

After the water starts to boil, lower to a low flame and cook for about 30 minutes.
It is very important to baste the fish every few minutes with sauce.
